Guitarist, Teacher, Songwriter, Session Musician

Ryan Davey is a young Bristol Based Session Musician, Guitar Teacher, Songwriter and Guitar Player. From an early age Ryan has been gigging around the country with a wide variety of artists and musicians which has always been a massive passion of his.

Music gives Ryan scope to not only develop his skills within the industry but also gives him opportunities and confidence in general life. During Ryan’s musical journey, he has expanded his guitar playing knowledge and can adapt to different genres.  This has been developed through working with rock/pop cover bands, short notice gigs, Wedding/function bands, playing in Musical theatre shows and playing for the number one Bee Gees Tribute band in the UK. Whilst exploring avenues of music, Ryan has also been lucky enough to sit in with the session band for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita who were performing at the prestigious Birmingham Hippodrome. The opportunity arose from completing the London Trinity College of Music’s Grade 8 Rock and Pop exam in which Ryan obtained a Distinction with a mark of 98%. Through this exam Ryan was lucky enough to meet and network with one of the session members from the touring Evita show which then led him to experience being part of a live professional pit band.

Ryan first started playing guitar at the age of thirteen whilst being influenced by a musical community of students in Worle Community School. In combination of music inspiration with listening to the likes of Gary Moore, BB king, Dire Straits and many other influential bands, Ryan became incredibly inspired by guitar emphasized music. From this influence he then went on to achieve an A* in Access to Music at GCSE level.

During education, Ryan sought opportunities outside of the classroom to not only gain experience but also secure a professional career within the music industry. This led onto recording with songwriters/musicians in studios such as Monnow Valley, Modern World and Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios. For his College BTEC Situated at Weston College, Ryan obtained a distinction star in professional performance and followed on to further his qualifications which led him to achieve a first class performance and production BA Hons degree in Popular music (foundation) and Performance/Production Studies (BA) through Bath Spa University.
